The clinic undergoes renovations and is equipped with modern surgical equipment

According to the prestigious magazine FOCUS, St. Antonius Hospital is among the best medical institutions in the state of North Rhine-Westphalia

The clinical complex was formed by merging two major independent medical institutions in 2009 — St. Antonius Clinic and St. Joseph Clinic. Later, the “Vogelzangstrasse” Clinic and the “Petrus” Clinic joined them. Today, these four institutions provide care for patients across a wide range of diseases, with leading specialties in otolaryngology and oncology.

The Department of Otolaryngology, led by Professor Götz Lenerdt, focuses on the diagnosis and treatment of hearing disorders, ENT organs (ears, larynx, pharynx, nose), as well as salivary glands, the upper part of the esophagus, and cranial nerves in the head and neck region. Special attention is given to the treatment of hearing loss, voice disorders (dysphonia), and speech difficulties (dysarthria) in both children and adults. Together with his team, Götz Lenerdt helps patients restore hearing through the installation of cochlear implants, hearing aids, and surgical treatment of pathologies of the external ear and salivary glands. An innovative method of laser surgery for the upper respiratory and digestive tracts through the nasal sinuses and tear ducts allows interventions with minimal trauma compared to open surgery.

Another focus of the department is aesthetic plastic surgery, including correction of the shape of the nose and ears, as well as facial and neck skin, including the eyelids. The department staff places special emphasis on postoperative patient care.

Laryngeal cancer and tongue cancer are the most common oncological diseases in the oral region. The Otolaryngology Department performs histological diagnostics and surgical treatment of malignant neoplasms, coordinating the plan and extent of surgery with all necessary related specialists.
