Professor Lee Seok Koo is a surgeon, M.D., Ph.D., and one of the pioneers of liver transplantation in Korea. In 1996, he was the first to perform such surgeries in the country. He has successfully completed over 2,000 liver transplants. He has authored 13 chapters in medical textbooks and published over 390 articles in scientific journals.
Research Interests: Hepatocyte transplantation, bioartificial liver support system, liver stem cell research.
