Professor Mortini performs skull base surgeries and provides surgical treatment for cerebrovascular diseases, brain, and spinal tumors. He has conducted over 8,000 neurosurgical procedures and stereotactic radiosurgery interventions using the Gamma Knife. In 2020, he performed the world’s first surgery to remove a meningioma using a robotoscope. Under his leadership, the Neurosurgery Department has become an internationally recognized center of expertise for treating pituitary tumors.

Professor Mortini is also deeply involved in research. He has designed over 60 new instruments for microneurosurgical operations and published 230 scientific papers.
