HOTEL DESCRIPTION

Bagni di Pisa Palace & Spa 5* is located in the small town of San Giuliano Terme, just a few kilometers from Pisa. The history of the thermal springs here dates back to 1743, when Grand Duke Francesco of Lorraine chose the San Giuliano Palace as his summer residence. Over time, a luxurious SPA resort was built here, which still preserves the charm of the 18th century.

After a major renovation in 2004 and the addition of modern interior details, the palace has retained its historical atmosphere and decor. Authentic frescoes on high vaulted ceilings, marble and Tuscan tiled floors, and parquet mezzanines remain.

At Bagni di Pisa, guests can stay in the following room categories:

Executive Chef Umberto Toscano offers guests exquisite Mediterranean cuisine made with local products, as well as traditional Italian dishes. Art, creativity, and craftsmanship form the basis of the daily menu at the main Dei Lorena restaurant. The cozy ambiance pairs perfectly with stunning views, and dinners are complemented by fine vintage wines.

From the Corte Byron terrace, there is a panoramic view of the hills and olive grove, where guests can sample appetizers and light meals.

The Shelley Bar, located on the second floor, offers a selection of aromatic coffee, cocktails, relaxed conversation, and a game of bridge.

The Bagni di Pisa resort infrastructure includes:

  • The colonnade of the Coffee House on the hill
  • The natural thermal grotto Grotta dei Granduchi
  • A large SPA center with historical baths Levante and Ponente

WELLNESS CENTERS

Bagni di Pisa Thermal SPA Center

Thermal water from springs with a constant temperature of 38°C is rich in alkali and sulfates.

The main indications for undergoing thermal treatments at Bagni di Pisa are:

  • musculoskeletal system and joint disorders
  • pain, muscle spasms, rehabilitation after injuries
  • chronic phlebopathy, varicose veins
  • inflammatory conditions of the respiratory system and upper airways
  • stress-related conditions
  • excess weight

The SPA center infrastructure includes two historical pools — Levante and Ponente.

In Levante, thermal water flows directly from the spring. Bathing here has a beneficial effect on the circulatory and musculoskeletal systems and has anti-inflammatory properties. The Ponente bath combines Western and Eastern thermal cultures — special attention is paid to scents, sounds, and colors, carefully selected to induce relaxation and calm the nervous system. Visiting these pools positively affects emotional wellbeing. This area also includes a Turkish bath and a relaxation room.

The natural thermal grotto Grotta dei Granduchi is a special point of pride of the Bagni di Pisa SPA. This small passage carved into the rock centuries ago leads to a natural cavity where a pool is filled with water from a thermal spring that cascades down a rock wall like a waterfall. Time spent in the grotto supports airway cleansing, blood pressure normalization, and the restoration of the body’s natural defense mechanisms.

The SPA center offers weight loss programs developed in collaboration with physicians from the University of Pisa, experts in dietetics. Each guest receives an individual nutrition plan, selected procedures, and manual therapy methods.

The thermal center also offers:

  • facial and body skincare programs
  • various types of massage
  • thermal mud applications
  • aerosol inhalations
  • thermal baths and showers
  • hydrotherapy
  • music therapy
  • special programs for men and women
  • treatments for children
