Grotta Giusti Thermal Spa Resort Tuscany 5*
ABOUT THE HOTEL
HOTEL DESCRIPTION
The Grotta Giusti Thermal Spa building is a 19th-century historic villa. The original features of that era have been fully preserved: the original façade, authentic ceiling frescoes, paintings, and engravings from the past. The proximity to the cultural cities of Florence and Pisa makes this not only a wellness destination but also an ideal base for sightseeing.
The hotel houses a large thermal center with its own team of physicians. Here you can choose from a variety of therapeutic procedures aimed at getting rid of stress, preserving youth and beauty, and improving skin condition. The hotel is surrounded by a private 40-acre park, perfect for leisurely walks among centuries-old trees. The most notable feature is the large natural thermal grotto. The air and unique microclimate contribute to overall well-being and positively affect all bodily systems.
The rooms and all interior spaces were completely renovated in the early 2020s. Every detail reflects Tuscan art, the surrounding nature, and the historical legacy of the villa.

WELLNESS CENTERS
Grotta Giusti Thermal SPA Center
The main therapeutic element at the SPA is the natural thermal grotto connected to the hotel. Discovered in 1849 by workers on the Monsummano hill, the underground hot spring quickly proved its healing potential. The water and steam from the cave are known to:
- improve overall well-being
- relieve joint pain
- benefit skin condition
- ease symptoms of asthma, allergies, and upper respiratory tract diseases
The grotto is divided into three wellness areas: Paradise, Purgatory, and Hell, with temperatures ranging from 28°C to 34°C. The healing steam attracts guests from all over the world. At the bottom lies Limbo, a crystal-clear thermal lake with water at 36ºC.
Thermal mineral water, rich in bicarbonates, sulfates, and calcium, as well as therapeutic mud at 47°C, is used for treatments. The mud is prepared by mixing clay with thermal water and matured for at least 6 months before being applied to relieve muscle tension and pain.
Additional SPA services include:
- balneotherapy
- physiotherapy
- various types of massage
- inhalations
- ayurveda
- body peels and wraps
- scalp and hair treatments
