Bethanien Clinic

“Bethanien” is Switzerland’s first private hospital with an international certification.

The clinic has the only Papillon 50 machine in Switzerland for radiation therapy for intestinal cancer.

Annually, approximately 3,800 surgeries are performed.

“Bethanien” is one of Switzerland’s top clinics, offering advanced medical services and 5-star hotel-level amenities. The hospital comprises several departments, with the leading specialties being obstetrics and gynecology, orthopedics and traumatology, cardiology, urology, and general surgery.

Around 500 children are born at the clinic every year. The maternity ward offers comfortable rooms with all necessary equipment, including a special birthing bath. The medical team supports the woman at every stage, ensuring the safety of the process and providing moral support. Additionally, postpartum specialists offer training in feeding, infant massage, and care. Fathers are allowed to be present at the birth and stay with the family in the same room. Doula support can also be arranged.

The surgical wing of the clinic features five large operating rooms equipped with the latest technology. In urology, visceral, and thoracic surgery, the da Vinci robot is used. This machine requires smaller surgical incisions, provides high-quality visualization, maximizes the precision of the surgeon’s movements, and ensures quick recovery after surgery.
In the specialized heart catheterization laboratory, diagnostic and therapeutic procedures are carried out. Coronary angiography (X-ray contrast method for studying the heart’s arteries) guides the expansion of stenosed vessels with a balloon or the installation of a stent.

The orthopedic surgery department performs arthroscopic procedures, open reconstructive surgeries, and joint replacement via minimal access. Doctors specialize in treating a wide range of musculoskeletal diseases and injuries.

The plastic surgery department has two main directions. Aesthetic surgery focuses on correcting signs of aging, reshaping the nose, ears, breasts, liposuction, etc. Reconstructive surgery aims to restore damaged body parts, such as breast reconstruction after cancer surgery, correcting congenital defects (e.g., cleft lip), and skin grafts after burns.

The clinic has 105 beds. The rooms’ interior and equipment are similar to “Luxury” and “Junior Suite” rooms, with views of Zurich city and the lake. Patients can spend their free time in the bistro or take a walk in the large garden at the hospital.
