Schneider Children’s Medical Center holds a unique position among the world’s leading pediatric institutions. It is the only hospital in Israel and the Middle East entirely dedicated to the treatment of children from birth to adulthood. The center follows an “open-door” policy, providing medical care to all patients regardless of nationality, religion, or citizenship. Children from the Palestinian Authority, Jordan, Africa, Asia, and Europe come here to access advanced medical technologies and innovative therapies.
The clinic has 250 beds, with 43% allocated for patients requiring intensive care and resuscitation. It specializes in the treatment of critical conditions requiring immediate medical intervention. Key areas of expertise include hematology, oncology, endocrinology, cardiology, as well as organ and bone marrow transplantation. Thanks to the high qualifications of its medical staff and the use of modern treatment methods, the center demonstrates outstanding success in treating complex diseases.
Specialists at the clinic perform unique surgical interventions. The center is renowned for its successful heart, liver, and kidney transplants, as well as minimally invasive cardiac surgeries, which enable valve replacement without opening the chest cavity. This approach significantly reduces the risk of complications and shortens the rehabilitation period. Recently, the clinic performed the world’s first heart surgery on a newborn weighing just 780 grams, marking a significant milestone in pediatric cardiac surgery.
The center is actively engaged in scientific research, with a special focus on genetics and neurology. Researchers here discover new genes associated with intellectual disabilities and neurological diseases, while also introducing innovative technologies, including robotic surgery and advanced rehabilitation methods. Two of the center’s leading doctors have received Israel’s highest medical research award, highlighting the high level of scientific work conducted at Schneider.
Schneider is part of Clalit Health Services, Israel’s largest medical network, and is its only pediatric hospital among 14 medical institutions. In close collaboration with Tel Aviv University’s Faculty of Medicine, the center plays a crucial role in training future doctors and medical staff, shaping the next generation of medical professionals.
