Among the hospital’s outstanding centers is the Munich Comprehensive Cancer Center and the largest transplantation center in Bavaria, the Transplantation Center TxM.

The operating rooms of the University Hospital of Munich are equipped with the latest version of the Da Vinci robotic system.

The hospital’s Radiation Therapy Center develops and establishes treatment protocols for cancer therapy, which are implemented in clinics throughout Germany.

The University Hospital of Munich is one of Germany’s largest and most advanced medical institutions, with a history spanning over 200 years. Across its two clinical campuses, the hospital provides a full spectrum of diagnostic and therapeutic services in both surgical and medical specialties.

The hospital has a multidisciplinary oncology department for both adults and children. The interdisciplinary Lung Cancer Center, established in collaboration with the Asklepios group of clinics, follows modern protocols and offers a wide range of invasive and non-invasive diagnostic procedures. These include all types of radiation therapy: intensity-modulated radiation therapy (IMRT), image-guided radiation therapy (IGRT), volumetric-modulated arc therapy (VMAT), brachytherapy, intraoperative radiation therapy, and stereotactic therapy.

The Transplantation Department performs a full range of organ transplants, including heart, lungs, kidneys, liver, and pancreas. Other medical specialties at the University Hospital of Munich include urology, obstetrics and gynecology, and the treatment of rare congenital diseases in children.

The Surgical Center at the Grosshadern campus opened in July 2014 and currently includes 32 operating rooms, an emergency department, five intensive care units, and an outpatient surgical center with four additional operating rooms. The Pediatric Palliative Care Center and the Stroke and Dementia Research Center provide comprehensive medical care and support for critically ill patients. Since 1997, the Ronald McDonald House, operated by McDonald’s Children’s Aid, has been located near the campus, offering accommodation for families whose children are receiving treatment at the hospital.
