Professor A. Mark Gillinov — a globally recognized expert in mitral valve surgery, robotic cardiac surgery, and atrial fibrillation treatment.

Dr. Gillinov pioneered transcatheter (catheter-based) techniques for mitral valve repair, significantly transforming the approach to treating valvular heart diseases. He developed an innovative method for automatically creating artificial chords for minimally invasive mitral valve repair. Additionally, he introduced new minimally invasive atrial fibrillation ablation techniques and developed advanced technologies for minimally invasive surgical drainage.

Dr. Gillinov is an instructor for other cardiac surgeons and regularly presents at international conferences. He leads a team performing over 1,000 mitral valve surgeries annually.
