Dr. Massimo Lombardi is the Head of the Multimodality Cardiac Imaging Department at the San Donato Hospital in Milan. His work is based on the integration of several cardiovascular imaging methods — echocardiography, magnetic resonance imaging, computed tomography and nuclear imaging. Using these methods, he assesses the structure of the heart muscle, its blood supply, scar areas, inflammation, ischemia and valve defects without ionizing radiation. This approach allows for more accurate diagnosis, treatment planning and outcome prediction.
Dr. Lombardi’s clinical experience exceeds 40 years.

His scientific legacy includes more than 185 articles in peer-reviewed journals and 20 chapters in scientific books. Massimo Lombardi is also the author and editor of specialized textbooks published by the European Society of Cardiology, Springer and Oxford University Press, confirming his deep expertise in the field.
