More than 30,000 surgeries for gastric cancer have been performed since 2007

SNUH enjoys a strong national and international reputation due to its use of cutting-edge technologies, numerous clinical trials, and the development of innovative treatment methods. The Seoul National University Hospital consists of several facilities: the main hospital, children’s hospital, cancer hospital, dental hospital, and a clinical research institute.

The Children’s Hospital was established as the only hospital in the country dedicated to diagnosing and treating pediatric conditions. It provides comprehensive care in major specialties, including oncology, surgery, orthopedics, cardiology, and cardiac surgery.

The Cancer Hospital comprises 15 specialized departments and 10 multidisciplinary units (including centers for radiation oncology, imaging, and clinical trials). In addition to traditional treatments, advanced techniques such as tumor vessel embolization, Gamma Knife radiosurgery, stereotactic radiotherapy, and radiofrequency ablation are widely used. SNUH is a leader in developing new cancer therapies and drugs.

The transplant center performs kidney, liver, pancreas, heart, and lung transplants, with outstanding 5-year survival rates. It has been recognized as a leading transplant center by the World Health Organization.

The Department of Neurosurgery is organized into sub-centers specializing in the treatment of brain tumors, cerebrovascular diseases, spinal disorders, and trauma.

The Department of Obstetrics and Gynecology at SNUH is regarded as a leader in treatment, research, and education. Its experts manage pregnancies and provide diagnosis and treatment for pelvic organ prolapse, infertility, endocrine disorders, benign and malignant tumors, and other conditions of the female reproductive system.

SNUH performs 6,000 orthopedic surgeries annually, treating osteoarthritis, spinal deformities, ligament injuries, and bone tumors.
