Dr. Gopala Krishnan is an orthopedic surgeon with more than 40 years of experience and a senior consultant at Apollo Hospitals in Chennai. He received his MBBS from the University of Madras (1978), his MS in Orthopedics from the same university (1982), and his MCh in Orthopedics in the United States (1984). 

He specializes in knee and hip replacement, including minimally invasive techniques such as minimally invasive hip resurfacing and minimally invasive knee replacement, cemented hip replacement, and bilateral knee replacement. He also treats complex fractures and their aftereffects. 

He is the founder and a lifetime member of the Asian chapter of ASAMI (the International Association for the Study and Application of the Methods of Ilizarov). He has conducted more than 75 workshops on the Ilizarov technique in India and abroad and has presented more than 150 papers at national and international conferences.
