Doctor Klaus Belka
About the doctor
Professor Klaus Belka is a renowned German specialist in radiation oncology and radiotherapy and Director of the Department of Radiation Oncology at LMU Klinikum Munich. He is actively engaged in oncological research and is currently recognized as one of Germany’s leading specialists in radiation therapy.
His clinical and research work focuses on modern radiotherapy techniques for the treatment of cancer, including stereotactic and adaptive radiotherapy. Professor Belka has a particular interest in the development of highly precise treatment planning and radiation delivery technologies, as well as combined treatment approaches for malignant tumors. His research focuses on radiation biology, the mechanisms of tumor cell death, and the development of novel anticancer treatment strategies.
Professor Belka studied medicine at the University of Essen, where he obtained his doctoral degree in 1990 and completed his medical training in 1993; he also completed clinical training in Canada. In 1995, he joined the Department of Radiation Oncology at the University of Tübingen, where he headed a research group in experimental radiotherapy. He has been a board-certified specialist in radiation oncology since 2002.
