Resort description

Trouville is one of France’s first seaside resorts, located in Lower Normandy and separated from Deauville by the narrow Touques River. As early as the 19th century, visitors came here to relax and benefit from the healing effects of the English Channel’s sea air. The region’s wellness traditions are based on thalassotherapy. Heated seawater baths, seaweed body wraps, and marine mud applications help restore vitality, improve skin condition, and relieve muscle tension.

Located in the very heart of Trouville, the five-star Cures Marines Hotel & Spa Trouville was originally built in 1912. In 2015, the property underwent a complete renovation and became part of the MGallery collection. Today, it features a modern wellness center offering a wide range of seawater-based treatments designed to restore the body’s vitality.

At Cures Marines in Trouville, guests can follow programs for weight loss and detoxification, recovery from stress and emotional burnout, as well as slowing age-related changes affecting both the skin and the body. Thalassotherapy programs are recommended for people experiencing chronic fatigue and sleep disorders.

The Purist Retreat & Spa Wellness Centre

The concept of The Purist Retreat & Spa is built around four core pillars: body care, movement, nutrition, and sleep. Before beginning any treatments, each guest undergoes a consultation and diagnostic assessment, which may include an Observ 520® skin analysis, an Oligo-Check mineral balance test, a Tanita body composition assessment, or a BeFlow® psycho-emotional evaluation.

Spread across 2,500 m²:

  • 34 treatment rooms
  • 32°C heated seawater pool
  • flotation pool enriched with Epsom salts
  • hammam and sauna facilities, including the Japanese Iyashi Dôme sauna
  • fitness centre
  • meditation space

The foundation of the centre’s programmes is marine-based therapies using seawater and seaweed, including hydromassage baths, body wraps with laminaria seaweed, marine mud, and magnesium, as well as rituals featuring VOYA organic Irish seaweed. These treatments replenish the skin with essential minerals while delivering draining, anti-inflammatory, and remodelling benefits.

The wellness centre offers programmes starting from 3 days in duration:

«Marine Escape»Treatments featuring organic seaweed and VOYA products, rich in minerals and trace elements. Designed to promote deep recovery, skin regeneration, and replenish the body with essential nutrients.
«Five Worlds»A five-day programme featuring beauty rituals inspired by different cultures (Polynesia, India, Japan, the Atlas Mountains, and Brazil), using CINQ MONDES products.
«Emotions»A programme designed to support recovery from stress and emotional overload through energy-based practices, neuro-relaxation therapies, and psycho-emotional assessment.
«Detox»A personalised detoxification and body contouring programme combining advanced technologies (LPG Endermologie®, radiofrequency therapy, cryotherapy) with personal training sessions.
«Longevity»A four-day programme based on epigenetics, combining deep detoxification, metabolic stimulation, anti-ageing treatments, and restoration of psycho-emotional balance.

Thalassotherapy treatments, deep heat therapies, cryotherapy, and device-based procedures are not recommended for acute infections, severe heart or kidney disease, active cancer, significant circulatory disorders, or any skin condition during an acute flare-up. During pregnancy, certain treatments (particularly body wraps, cryotherapy, and intensive drainage therapies) may be restricted and are performed only following medical approval.

Frequently asked questions

What is thalassotherapy and what are its benefits?

Thalassotherapy is a wellness approach based on the therapeutic properties of seawater, marine algae, and the maritime climate. These programmes promote detoxification, improve circulation and skin health, reduce stress, and increase energy levels.

How does Cures Marines differ from other wellness resorts in France?

At Cures Marines, thalassotherapy is integrated with the The Purist Retreat & Spa concept. Marine-based therapies are complemented by cryotherapy, a Japanese sauna, neuromeditation, and comprehensive diagnostics prior to the programme. This makes the resort one of the most technologically advanced thalassotherapy centres in Normandy.

How many days should I stay at Cures Marines to experience noticeable results?

For optimal results, we recommend staying between 3 and 7 days. Short half-day and 3-day programmes are ideal for a quick reset, while longer stays provide more lasting detoxification, anti-ageing, and stress-reduction benefits.

Is Cures Marines suitable for a family holiday, not just a spa retreat?

Yes. The resort is designed for both wellness stays and family holidays. It offers family-friendly accommodation, a heated seawater pool, a restaurant, a beachfront promenade, and convenient access to walks and excursions in Trouville and Deauville.

When is the best time to book accommodation and wellness programmes?

If you are planning to follow a thalassotherapy programme or one of the resort’s most popular wellness programmes (Detox, Emotions, or Longevity), we recommend booking at least 1-2 months in advance. For summer stays and holiday periods, booking 3-4 months ahead is advisable.
