Resort description
Grand Park Hotel Rovinj 5* is located on the western coast of the Istrian peninsula, on the shores of the Adriatic Sea, surrounded by the Golden Cape National Park with its relict coniferous and deciduous forests. The area has a mild Mediterranean climate.
This beneficial combination of natural factors creates what is known in wellness medicine as a climatotherapy environment. The air of the relict park, saturated with phytoncides, and the marine aerosol containing iodine and bromine, are traditionally recommended for neurological disorders, chronic stress, and “megalopolis syndrome.” The region is also known for its botanical components used in phytotherapy. Wormwood, rosemary, lavender, and sage are used to relieve muscle tension and normalize sleep, while the local cold-pressed olive oil, one of the best in the world, enhances the relaxing effect of body treatments thanks to its polyphenols.
Medical centers
Albaro Wellness & Spa Medical Center
Albaro Wellness & Spa is a wellness center spanning over 3800 m² within the Grand Park Hotel Rovinj. The treatments utilize the natural resources of Istria: local medicinal herbs, sea algae, and olive oil.
The center’s infrastructure includes:
- Finnish sauna
- Open-air Forest Banya
- Ice fountain and plunge pool
- Archipelago shower
- Fully equipped gym with a sea view
- 3 freshwater pools: a panoramic infinity pool, a 50-meter sports pool, and a relaxation pool
Signature Treatments:
| Pelinkovac Rakija Ritual | An aromatherapy massage with herbal extracts and a sugar scrub. Reduces muscle tension, improves peripheral circulation. |
| Olive Press Ceremony | A deep relaxation procedure with cold-pressed olive oil and a ground olive scrub. The oil’s polyphenols reduce inflammation in tissues and accelerate recovery from prolonged nervous tension. |
| Batana Bodywork | Intensive body work with hemp balm. The technique mimics rowing movements and targets trigger points — relieving chronic muscle tension associated with neurological disorders. |
| Muse Biofeedback | A practice using a neuro headband that reads brain activity in real-time. Helps master conscious meditation skills, reduces anxiety, and normalizes the nervous system’s response to stress. |
Albaro center treatments are not recommended for acute infectious and inflammatory diseases, malignant neoplasms, severe heart failure, and uncontrolled hypertension. Certain sessions have limitations for epilepsy, acute psychotic states, and during pregnancy. As treatments use plant extracts, essential oils, olive oil, and hemp balm, patients with allergies to plant components should inform the center’s specialist in advance.
