Dr. Nesrin Aslan Ilkmen is a specialist in nuclear medicine, Doctor of Medical Sciences, and Associate Professor. She graduated from the Istanbul University Faculty of Medicine and completed her specialization in nuclear medicine at the same university. For more than 30 years, she has been engaged in the diagnosis and treatment of diseases using radiopharmaceuticals. She was one of the first in the country to begin interpreting PET/CT scans and actively contributed to the introduction of this method into clinical practice.
Dr. Ilkmen’s professional interests encompass nuclear medicine theranostics, PET/CT in oncology and cardiology. She is a recognized expert in proton-beam therapy for prostate cancer and neuroendocrine tumors, and is proficient in radionuclide therapy methods. One of the key innovations she has introduced is the theranostic approach using Lutetium-177 PSMA for metastatic prostate cancer, which allows both visualization and destruction of tumor cells simultaneously.
Dr. Ilkmen is the author and co-author of numerous scientific papers and regularly presents reports at international congresses. She actively participates in the work of professional nuclear medicine societies. In her practice, she emphasizes the individual selection of radiopharmaceuticals for the treatment of oncological and cardiological diseases.
